RESPONSIBLE MANAGEMENT & CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL POLICY
This policy has been adopted by the NWVARC and must be adhered to by all Club members, families and guests.
Purpose
To provide a safe sporting, working and social environment for every NWVARC member and guests in attendance at club rallies, functions or events. Our club supports the responsible consumption of alcohol and takes seriously any inappropriate behaviour that results from excessive drinking.
Principles
Policy
1. NWVARC will not supply alcohol to members or their guests for consumption at club rallies, events or competitions.
2. NWVARC may purchase alcohol for the purpose of a gift or prize. Any recipient of any such gift or prize must be 18 years of age or over.
3. NWVARC requires individuals to accept responsibility for their behaviour and actions when they choose to drink, including when intoxicated.
4. Members must not supply alcohol to any person under the age of 18 years.
5. There will be no consumption of alcohol during the conduct of any riding activities by members, instructors or guests.
6. Members who have been drinking will be encouraged to use alternative transport options.
7. Members and/or their guests must not be subjected to any pressure to drink, nor to drink more than they judge to be reasonable. Nor should they feel compelled to drink alcohol because no reasonable and attractive alternative is offered.
8. Members and/or their guests must not engage in binge drinking and must refrain from promoting and/or participating in and/or encouraging drinking games.
